Sun, July 20, 2008 - 4:59 PMMeh, I don't trust anything beyond a day or two. -

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Mon, July 21, 2008 - 9:33 PMI wouldn't trust anything beyond.... um.... now. :) Seriously, last year we had one of those torrential downpours come through and then the sky cleared up so we brought out our stuff to "dry" (ok get less damp) and then another torrential downpour came through.
Another time we had just come back from the battlefield, got to camp and dropped our kit and the deluge started up. So we had a big group outside shower.
I expect that we'll have a lot of weather this year. That's pretty much the safest assumption. Yes indeed I think we'll have weather.
I accept that the gods can toss what ever weather at us that amuses them. Best not to complain. Maybe they might find somewhere else more amusing.

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Wed, July 23, 2008 - 2:12 PMWell insanely strong storms just hit the Pennsic area yesterday. I did not hear reports on the news of the classroom tents having ended up on the highway or porta castles flying over to 422.......so I guess we should just all be thankful the tornado type stuff is hitting BEFORE war and not during. *knock on wood* -

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Wed, July 23, 2008 - 6:57 PMCleveland is getting hammered with on/off showers, cooler weather, and high gusty winds. What we get, usually heads SE (toward Pennsic), so I suspect they're getting lots of rain right now. The front is moving from Canada over Lake Erie, and dumping as it hits further inland (toward Akron). -

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Wed, July 23, 2008 - 7:53 PMIt's started raining on our side of PA a few hours ago. Hopefully the rain will keep moving on and we can pack the car in peace tomorrow. -

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Thu, July 24, 2008 - 6:30 AMYup, the rain is moving on. We've gotten over 7 inches of the stuff since Tuesday evening, up here in Mass.

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Thu, July 24, 2008 - 7:06 AMWe started with rain Tuesday and it's not stopped significantly since. Last night was a total washout so now outside packing got done. It's looking like tonight will be a washout too! We've got this big switling mess of storms that worked it's way off Lake Erie Yesterday and have just sort of parked themselves over Western NY. So I'll be packing in the rain tonight (sigh)...

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Thu, July 24, 2008 - 8:24 AMIt is a fantasticly beautiful day here today in western PA. I live but 40 minutes frome Coopers. Tomorrow is supposed to be clear, Saturday scattered showers, beautiful again on Sunday. Not so insanely hot days and delightfully cool nights in the mid 50s.
I always think it funny that we even worry as very few of us are fair weather campers and will weather almost everything. I had a BLAST riding an air matress across our road pond last year and having a mud battle. I only care about setting up my tent before the rain......the rest........well hell it could snow and I'd still be happy to just be there. Just the same the forcast seems to be shaping up to be very nice for war. -

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Thu, July 24, 2008 - 9:39 AMThanks, Una... that's the attitude we all need. I too will weather whatever storm the gods throw at me. All I care is I'm not at work or home listening to the phone, dog bark, neighbors bitch, kids calling, etc. -

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Thu, July 24, 2008 - 10:49 AMRain I'll take. Anything just to escape the Ansteorran heat! The heat index is 105 today. -

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Thu, July 24, 2008 - 12:26 PMEither rain here or rain there. Giving that option. I will take rain there.
I don't care. GET ME OUT OF HERE! I WANT TO GO HOME!!! -

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Thu, July 24, 2008 - 3:36 PMAll right...
Weather comes and weather goes.
Rain falls and mud flows.
Tents collapse, fires drown, floods happen, and showers explode...
(OK... that last one, while horrible at the time... was REALLY cool to watch. I can admit this.. 10 months later)
Drunks are obnoxious, the sun is merciless, and, eventually, we all get food/sun/alcohol poisoning.
But...
There's still no place on Earth like Pennsic.... the one place I truly call Home.
Love,
Robin -

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Thu, July 24, 2008 - 7:07 PMYep, weather is not an issue. I'd go and have fun no matter what! But this forecast sounds really nice, especially after last year's heat and rain. But I never complain about the weather at War...what good does it do? I just convince myself that the heat or rain or whatever feels great.

Re: Pennsic 37 - Weather Forecast
Fri, July 25, 2008 - 7:06 AMI still blame Dante/Erik the Bard for all the rain last year, by imploring the gods at the Bacchanalia party to "knock off the heat" -
