Are you ready for Pennsic? Are you ready to leave the mundane world far, far behind? Are you ready for another installment of late night merry-making in the Bog?
We of Vlad's Pleasure Pavillions are happy and ready to oblige you. Your debauchery is our utmost pleasure, only exceeded of course by our pleasure in our own debauchery. Come one, come all to the union of The Great Eastern Highway and Hill Road, where war-weary denizens find respite and cheer.
Vlad's will be open to all at o'dark-thirty every night the first week: Sunday July 27th through Friday August 1st.
We will be hosting our annual Slave Auction on Saturday August 2nd. Be a Bidder! Be a Slave! Be a guest... just so long as you make it. Stop by anytime during the first week and let us know if you want to participate in the auction.
Then, on Second Tuesday, we will top it all off with our Masked Ball in the style of the Inquistion . The Inquisition returns after a one-year hiatus, bigger and better than before. Guests must wear a mask before midnight to gain entry.
We look forward to seeing you all this year. May the wind fill your sail and your steed be swift.
Love,
Vlad and his Minions

Re: Are you ready? (xpost)
Thu, July 17, 2008 - 6:58 AMI ready in my mind, but I'm not actually ready to go yet. Started staining the new pavillion poles last night finally. Took a week of sanding and prepping them to get them in shape. A few other small projects and packing to do yet. Wife has started staging things and we've got some shopping to do yet. I've got to help a friend move some stuff Saturday morning with the trailer and after that I can start packing the trailer. Turns out we need to host a Thrown Weapons practice at our house Sunday evening too. So some preparation for that is required. Bring on Pennsic!

Thu, July 17, 2008 - 7:28 AM<< pennsic is everywhere i look, and in everything i do... everything around me reminds me of being there... >>
Glad to hear it's not just me in this state of mind. i think my neighbors, friends, relatives, house mate...everyone is ready for me to go. i'm sure they want to move on from the stories of horror and fun from last year. Hear some new stories, see new pictures.
i mean really.......these poor people have to deal with me doing the Snoopy dance in the drive way as i pull my luggage out of the car, after an hour or more of digging around in storage trying to find it.

Re: Are you ready? (xpost)
Thu, July 17, 2008 - 2:29 PMMy last day at work was yesterday. I'm packing, EVERYTHING (or throwing it away.) Tomorrow it's a day of Dark Knight and bar hopping as I say goodbye to Philly. Monday, I move back to West Chester. Wednesday, back to Philly for a six hour video shoot (I'm cameraman.) Thursday, me birthday! Yay me, gonna go shopping for some new clothes (for after Pennsic.) Friday...
hold it, wait a sec, frak! I forgot to leave time to pack for Pennsic.
And I start my new job the day after Pennsic, the 11th (count me as one of those folks happy about the recent schedule change.)
So much for being lazy. -

Re: Are you ready? (xpost)
Fri, July 18, 2008 - 8:09 AMThree more days of work.. three shifts , then I can just flip that switch in my brain to Pennsic mode. My camping gear has been packed and re packed, my armor and spears are ready, coolers, Muskoka Chair , beer will be handled at the Duty Free at the border, I got a list of things I need to pick up from the hardware store but I am on top of it all. Visited a friend's house last night , they are packing for two , it's Defcon 1 in their house , Condition RED !! , his wife is going mental with the packing , and sewing ,man my single man set up and system seems like a dream compared to some of my friend's who are couples. I don't even wanna think of the household of friends that come each year , 5 adults , 3 children, just a logistic nightmare. How do they manage , wow . Not making fun , just seems like allot of stuff they have to bring. My list is done , just gotta wait a few days that's all....
Of course then I get to Cooper's Lake and the new list goes into effect , digging sumps , pounding tent poles , fire pits , going to storage , setting up common tents , going back to storage , helping unload the Van full of gear that our Land Agent brings every year to set up our kitchen, our common space .... but you know what , I'll be working with a big huge grin on my face , because I will be there , and have to not think of anything but that stuff , for the next coupla weeks. -

Re: Are you ready? (xpost)
Fri, July 18, 2008 - 8:18 AMI haven't seen my livingroom floor or couch in about 10 days.
We've been botteling mead like mad.
All of the sewing is done.
We're still trying to figure out how to fit about 600 stuffed animals somewhere in amongst all this. :^)
Ya... we're pretty ready.
